What a Real Weekly Pool Service Should Include

September 5, 2026 E & A Pro Pool Service

A weekly pool visit should be more than a quick skim and a scoop of chlorine. The point of the visit is to keep your water safe, keep your surfaces clean, and catch equipment problems while they are still cheap to fix.

A complete visit starts with brushing — the walls, the steps, and every corner the vacuum cannot reach. Brushing is what keeps algae from taking hold in the spots that never get circulation. From there, the skimmer basket, pump basket, and leaf canister all get emptied so water can actually move through the system.

If there is a spa, it gets brushed and skimmed too, and drained and refilled so the water does not sit and concentrate. Then comes the chemical test and adjustment: chlorine, pH, alkalinity, and stabilizer, adjusted to what the test actually shows rather than a standard scoop.

The last part is the one people notice least and benefit from most. Your technician should be watching the pump for good flow, checking that the vacuum is performing, and looking over the equipment for leaks, noises, or pressure changes. That weekly observation is how a failing pump gets caught before it strands you with a green pool.

If your current service is not covering these steps, your pool is being maintained on borrowed time. We are happy to walk your pool and tell you honestly what it needs.
